The José Ramírez "R" line was designed by José Ramírez IV in 1991 and is part of the Ramirez "Studio" range of Guitars.

"R" models have a slightly smaller body than the "E" models (also part of the "Studio" range) which lends these guitars a bright sound with a sweet, endearing quality.
